You Can Be The Evolv Cinderella Story

Nikki Baulisch - Marketing Coordinatorby Nikki Baulisch - Marketing Coordinator
July 30, 2010   |   4:07 pm

Being a Cinderella story means you have overcome all the odds to reach something that others had deemed unattainable for you. It’s no secret that one of the reasons I chose to attend a small private college in southern Minnesota was because I wanted to live in the “State of Hockey.” And although it’s been a few years since I’ve left Minnesota, I still find myself cheering for their college teams. One of my favorite Cinderella stories would have to be from the small town of Bemidji, Minnesota and the 2009 Bemidji (pronounced ba-mij-ee) State University hockey team.

In the tournament, the usual college hockey powerhouses were in the top 16 including Boston, Michigan and Minnesota Duluth, but it was rounded out by the Bemidji Beavers proudly holding spot #16. In the first round, Bemidji stunned #2 ranked Notre Dame with a 5-1 win…unbelievable! In the next round, Bemidji faced #9 ranked Cornell University and came out with a 4-1 victory. This feat alone made the Beavers the first ever 16th ranked team to reach the frozen four! That alone will give you goosebumps. This team worked together to overcome all the odds and all the naysayers to get to where they wanted to be. And although the Beavers did not go on to win the entire tournament, you can’t forget the tenacity and grace they showed from game to game.

I shared this story with Dr. Anne and she quickly said, “well that sounds like network marketing!” Wait, network marketing is like hockey? No wonder I feel at home here! :)   She went on to tell me this:

“Often when you don’t feel like making one more call, or doing another PER because some guests have canceled, these are the times when you push through and commit to doing what you said you were going to do for your business. Something shifts and your commitment and dedication is recognized once again.  Every day people unexpectedly connect with you inquiring about what you’re doing, if they can place an order, or better yet, become a Member. I’ve personally experienced this type of scenario in my network marketing career and have talked with countless other leaders who have shared the same.  So how can you make the most of it? Finish each month strong and with a purpose by making the last few calls that you know you need to make and attend or host the PER that you scheduled at the beginning of the week.  By following through with these actions (especially when you can think of a million other things you could be doing) a difference is made between those who build strong businesses with reproductive residual income and those who wish for it.”

Anne and I would both like to congratulate you for making the decision to Evolv, to Evolv your business and yourself! Taking the first step is always important, but pushing until the end is crucial if you want to reach the top. Here are a few quotes Dr. Anne and I found that could help give you that extra push to reaching your goal:

“I advise you to say your dream is possible and then overcome all inconveniences, ignore all the hassles and take a running leap through the hoop, even if it is in flames.” – Les Brown

“Good business leaders create a vision, articulate the vision, passionately own the vision, and relentlessly drive it to completion.” – Jack Welch

“Let others lead small lives, but not you. Let others argue over small things, but not you. Let others cry over small hurts, but not you. Let others leave their future in someone else’s hands, but not you. “ – Jim Rohn

“In essence, if we want to direct our lives, we must take control of our consistent actions. It’s not what we do once in a while that shapes our lives, but what we do consistently.”
– Tony Robbins

“The highest compliment that you can pay me is to say that I work hard every day, that I never dog it.” – Wayne Gretzky

Happy Independence Day!

Nikki Baulisch - Marketing Coordinatorby Nikki Baulisch - Marketing Coordinator
July 4, 2010   |   1:22 pm

Every year one of the Dallas suburbs holds a big celebration for the Fourth of July. Appropriately called “Kaboom Town,” hundreds of thousands of people travel to Addison, Texas to enjoy a thirty-minute firework show, enjoy a cool beverage, and indulge in American favorites like hot dogs, hamburgers, turkey legs and funnel cake. I am lucky to live within walking distance of this annual event and took last night as a time to catch up with old friends and celebrate America’s Independence.

As we walked over to the park to watch the fireworks, I noticed that the town I live in had turned into a big party. I forgot for a minute why we were celebrating until I overheard a little boy talking to his father. He was wearing an Old Navy t-shirt emblazoned with an American flag and a mustard stain, most likely from a delicious hot dog he had enjoyed earlier that evening. He carried a small paper American flag that he waved around proudly.

“Daddy, what does independence mean?” the boy asked.

“It means freedom, son. That’s why we’re celebrating today. Because as an American, we are each free.”

“So we can do whatever we want?”

“Well, yes, within reason. It’s pretty nice isn’t it?”

The little boy nodded.

Then the fireworks started. The crowd was cheering and everyone was mesmerized by the consecutive flashes of light. I turned around to look at the little boy and noticed that he had his hand over his heart with a big grin across his face. While the rest of the crowd was cheering, waving their drinks in the air, screaming “USA! USA!”, this little boy stood their quietly giving respect to the celebration.

After the last firework lit up the sky, I walked over to the little boy.

“Hello,” I said, “I noticed you held your hand over your heart the entire time. Can I ask why you did that?”

The boy looked up at his father for approval to talk to me. His father nodded and the boy said, “I love America. Because we’re free. I can grow up to be whatever I want because I have independence.”

“That’s exactly right! Do you know who gave you your freedom?” I asked.

The boy looked at me perplexed. The wheels inside his head were turning as he tried to figure out who gave him his freedom. He finally answered, “My daddy?”

His father and I laughed, and then the father told the little boy about the service men and women who fight every day for our freedom, “You know, Papa was in the army and he fought for your freedom too,” his father explained.

The boy looked up and said with exuberance, “I need to call Papa and thank him! I like being free!”

As simple as it was, that little boy had figured it out. No matter what color uniform, or what branch of service, every person that defends our country is worthy of a thank you. If it wasn’t for them, we wouldn’t be blessed with our right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

So from all of us at EvolvHealth to all the servicemen and women in the Navy, Army, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard, thank you for fighting for our freedom. Happy Independence Day, America! May you have a safe and enjoyable weekend!

**EvolvHealth will be closed Monday, July 5th to celebrate Independence Day**

Happy Canada Day! Fun facts about Canada (both real and fake)

Nikki Baulisch - Marketing Coordinatorby Nikki Baulisch - Marketing Coordinator
July 1, 2010   |   12:09 pm

I’ve always had this strange fascination with Canada. It started at an early age when I was first introduced to the sport of hockey. There was just something about the game that was so graceful yet so brutal. When the Canadian players would conduct their post-game interviews, I had laser-beam focus listening to their cool accents.

As strange as it sounds, I had always wanted to befriend Canadians, but there just weren’t that many to befriend in Texas. During my first interview with Evolv, I got to meet VP of Sales Dr. Anne Bodak Smith and was excited to find out that she was in fact a real Canadian! I’ve come to realize that there is more to Canada than just hockey and accents, but look back fondly on my first day with Evolv as my first step closer to getting to know real Canadians.

Here are a few facts (real and fake) that I’ve learned from Anne and the many Evolv Canadian Members. Can you figure out which ones are real?

  • Canada is so proud of hockey that they have it on their $5 bill
  • Poutine, an entrée that consists of french fries, cheese curds and brown gravy, is delicious
  • Grade school English teachers teach young Canadians how to properly use the word “eh” in conversation
  • The baseball glove was invented in Canada in 1883
  • Canadians are afraid of the dark
  • Curling is actually a really fun sport to watch
  • Santa Claus is Canadian
  • Canada does not own the North Pole
  • Moose are actually giant robots sent down to the USA to keep tabs on Americans
  • Three words: Ice Road Truckers
  • You can call a Canadian a Canuck, but if you call them a Hoser you’ll get in trouble

To all the Canadians out there, have a happy and safe Canada Day!

June 25, 2010   |   4:25 pm

Today is National Take Your Dog to Work Day! This “howliday” was created by a group called Pet Sitters International to encourage pet adoptions. It has been welcomed by some corporate offices as a day where your dog is welcome to accompany you to your place of business.

How cool would it be to be able to take your dog to work everyday? As an Evolv Member, you have the ability to call the shots and make the rules when running your own business. Creating your own schedule and taking your dog to work everyday is an option for you, the Evolver!

Although none of our wonderful pups here at the corporate office made it in today, they wanted to send wags your way!

Happy Father’s Day!

Nikki Baulisch - Marketing Coordinatorby Nikki Baulisch - Marketing Coordinator
June 20, 2010   |   2:16 pm

Here is a great “dad” poem that will inspire all dads to be great at what they do. Thanks to all the dads out there and a special shout out to all Evolver dads!

A dad is a person who is loving and kind,
And often he knows what you have on your mind.
He’s someone who listens,
Suggests, and defends.
A dad can be one of your very best friends!
He’s proud of your triumphs,
But when things go wrong,
A dad can be patient, helpful and strong.
In all that you do,
A dad’s love plays a part.
There’s always a place for him
Deep in your heart.
And each year that passes,
You’re even more glad,
More grateful and proud,
Just to call him your dad!
Thank you, Dad…
For listening and caring,
For giving and sharing,
But, especially, for just being you!

First Dallas Community Outreach for Give.Share.Evolv

Nikki Baulisch - Marketing Coordinatorby Nikki Baulisch - Marketing Coordinator
June 11, 2010   |   10:51 am

This week, a group of Evolvers met in Dallas for the first Dallas Community Outreach for the Give.Share.Evolv Foundation. Led by Presidential Director Donna Allen, her team volunteered with a little bit of “sweat equity” to help St. Philips beautify the grounds as they prepare to move into their new facility that is currently being built. Diane White coordinated and set up the event, while additional hands on deck included Diane’s son Evan, Terry Allen, Michella Young, Shila Jackson, Anastasia Winston Bojorquez and Jesse Golden with her husband.

To many south Dallas residents, St. Philips is more than just a school. They have multiple community outreach mission programs which provide the community with food banks, summer camps, free meals and much more.

After giving their time to St. Philips, Donna Allen and her team were asked to share what Evolv was. Based on what the school heard, they decided to purchase Evolv for the senior members that are a part of their programs.

Overall, it was a very productive day for these Evolvers who look forward to many more community outreach programs.

Miss last night’s June Kick-off call? Here’s a recap.

Jonathan Gilliam - Chief Marketing Officerby Jonathan Gilliam - Chief Marketing Officer
June 3, 2010   |   3:42 pm

Great call last night! Trey and Brent made some great announcements including the Zero-to-6 “Top Enrollers” winners Mike & Stacy Healy and Brandy Wells.

Trey got the call heated up with his announcement of a ground-breaking incentive being unveiled at the June Regionals in Atlanta and Portland this Saturday. Hard to keep a secret this big, and there’s a twist: as a part of the incentive, attendees at the Regionals will directly benefit by being present when it is announced.

By Trey’s estimation, Evolv is going where others have not gone with a previously “unimaginable promotion” that will rock the industry. Next, he announced the formation of the “Evolv Life Plan”, Evolv’s platform to assist Members in accumulating and managing wealth.

o2racer-252x300Trey also described our international expansion plans with Mexico and Peru coming soon, as well as our anticipated new product launch.

More great news from FutureCeuticals’ John Hunter: Not only are they blown away by early test results, they expect to produce their first scientific paper on ArchaeaActive next month.

Brent joined the call to talk about the upcoming June Regionals and more great news, including the industry-shaking “shock and awe” incentive Trey mentioned, planning for new micro distribution centers,  and the importance of the Premier E-Center to your business and the new rep site that comes with it.

Some of our senior Members rounded out the call with their incredible wisdom and personal excitment. Robert Dean, Garrett Mc Grath and Jim Lutes all talked about the importance of realizing the opportunity you have at this very moment and seizing it.
